Limestone may be cleaned with the use of most detergents that can be found on the market. The best result is achieved by scouring it with a solution of soft or regular soap. This treatment will also give some future protection.

In case of very tough stains these can be treated with a strong detergent for cars. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

Black granite should be treated with oil (30% linseed oil and 70% white spirit) after cleaning or when needed.


Remember that carbonic acid and lemon have a corroding effect on stone and should therefore be wiped up relatively fast using a damp cloth.
