1/3 soft soap flakes
2/3 hot water
Mix the soft soap with the water in a glass jar.

Leave the mixture until the soap flakes have been dissolved completely. Mix 1 tsp of this soap solution with 5 – 10 dl of cold water. Wipe or scrub with a sponge of nylone, for example Scotch Brite, along the lines of the wood. Wipe afterwards with lukewarm water using a scouring-cloth. Stains of fat may be difficult to remove at the first attempt but will usually disappear after a second one.

NB! A too strong soap solution may discolour the wood. To obtain a whiter and lighter result, a white-pigmented soap may be used.
