The oil mixture can be coated on the surface using a white cloth of cotton. Give 5 minutes to dry and then wipe away the excessive oil with kitchen paper or a cloth of cotton. This treatment may be repeated a couple of times the first year, thereafter once a year or when needed.
NB! Cloths and paper may self-ignite. Burn or put them in a jar of glass with a tight-sealing lid.

Use soap for daily cleaning. Tough stains are treated with grinding along the lines of the wood and thereafter oil.

Do not place textiles such as table cloths or bed linen in direct contact with newly oiled wood. Textiles absorb the oil and may be miscoloured.
